Free up a number that is already in the WhatsApp app
Only if you chose dedicated mode on a number you already use. If you do not free the number, the verification code never arrives and nothing explains why.

Hold on a second: do you really need this? If you want to keep using WhatsApp on your phone with that number, the answer is no.

What you lose when you delete the account: that phone’s chat history, your groups and your profile photo. What you do not lose: the contacts in your address book.
ShortcutBefore anything else, export the chats you care about from the app. After deleting there is no way back, not even through support. - 3
In the app, open each conversation you want to keep and use “Export chat”. It arrives by email.

In the app: Settings → Account → Delete my account. It will ask you to type the full number with country code.

Wait a few minutes before connecting in Orkasa. The deregistration is not always instant on Meta’s side.

Now go back to Orkasa and connect in dedicated mode. The code will arrive without trouble.
WhyIf it still does not arrive, it is almost always that the number cannot receive SMS. Try voice verification.
