Before you start: the map of your Meta accounts

   Meta does not have “an account”. It has four different things people call by the same name, and almost every connection problem comes from mixing them up.

   WhyYou do not need to memorise the names. All that matters is knowing there are four separate boxes, and that each one lives inside another.

   Here is how they nest. The portfolio is the outer box: everything else lives inside it.

   Your personal Facebook profile is only the key. Orkasa never posts to your wall and never sees your friends: all it does is confirm it is you.

   WhyThis is the step that makes people most uneasy. If your personal profile is not an admin of the portfolio, Meta’s window opens and shows you nothing to pick.

   The business portfolio (formerly “Business Manager”) is your agency’s box. The Page, the Instagram account and the WhatsApp account all live inside it.

   CarefulIf your agency has ever run ads, the portfolio probably already exists — under whoever created it. Look for it before creating a new one: two portfolios for the same agency is the hardest tangle to undo.

   The WABA is your company’s WhatsApp account. It is not the app on your phone: it is the account that lets Orkasa read and reply on your behalf.

   WhyThe phone number sits inside the WABA. One number, one WABA — which is why picking the wrong number is expensive.

   The Facebook Page and the Instagram account are only needed if you want to publish listings on social. WhatsApp does not require them.

   ShortcutIf for now you only want the bot answering WhatsApp, skip the Page and Instagram. You can connect them later without redoing anything.

   What you must be an admin of: the portfolio, no exceptions. The Page and Instagram only if you plan to publish there.

   Careful“Partial” access is not enough. If you are a Page editor but not a portfolio admin, you will be able to open Meta’s window and still not finish the connection.

   The order that works: portfolio → phone number → payment method → connect in Orkasa. Business verification and social channels come afterwards, unhurried.

   ShortcutThose first three are the only blockers. Everything else can be done with the bot already running.
